A glamorous jewelry designer wanted her mid-century, center-hall Colonial to sparkle when guests entered the home. Our answer was to use contemporary furniture as the foundation in the foyer, dining room, and powder room and to add nuances and shapes that softened the modern lines. We blended warm colors with metallic finishes, pairing natural hides with glass baubles. Bottom line: each space now twinkles like a gem.
